COLLINSVILLE
During WW2, an American paratrooper is wounded in battle only to wake up in his childhood hometown. Encountering people he once knew, circumstances force him to confront why he's there... and why he must hurry home.
2008, 23 min
"I wanted Collinsville to be about never forgetting your past and how it shapes and leads you to who you become. Even though important people are gone, they are still with you and influence your direction in life.
When our lead character Robert was a child, he never expressed how he really felt towards the important people of his life, especially his father. He didn't because he was just that - a child. But when given a second chance, he is able to see things through his adult eyes with insight and appreciation.
He is now able to understand the weight of his father's decisions. This leads to a promise that, in our film, hopefully manifests itself in a very different way than what you might expect."
-- Jerry LaBuy, director
"To me, Collinsville is a story about two generations coming face to face in an effort to save one another. The characters of Robert and his father have a shared experience that's so powerful, it draws them back together despite being 20-plus years apart. It's not a ghost story, it's a metaphysical story."
